Our ABA Process
Getting started is simple. We guide you through every step — from your first call to active therapy and beyond — with transparency, care, and no surprises.
Your path to progress
Here is exactly what to expect when you choose Avanza ABA — from the moment you reach out to the day therapy begins.
Free Consultation
It starts with a conversation. You'll speak with a member of our clinical team who will listen to your concerns, answer your questions, and learn about your family's goals. There's no obligation and no pressure — just a genuine conversation about what we can do together.
We'll discuss your child's or family member's current needs, what a typical day looks like, and how ABA might help. We'll also explain the next steps clearly so you know exactly what to expect.
Insurance Verification
Once you're ready to move forward, we handle insurance verification at no cost to you. We'll contact your insurance carrier, verify your ABA benefits, explain your coverage in plain language, and handle all necessary authorizations before services begin.
Intake & Paperwork
Complete your patient intake forms securely online before your first appointment — saving time and allowing your BCBA to review important background information in advance. Forms include patient information, insurance details, medical history, and required consents.
Complete Intake Forms →Behavioral Assessment
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) conducts a comprehensive behavioral assessment using standardized tools and clinical observation. This evaluation identifies the individual's current skill levels, strengths, learning style, and areas for growth across all relevant domains.
You and your family play an active role in this process — your observations and priorities are essential data.
Treatment Plan Development
Using assessment results and family input, your BCBA develops a detailed, individualized treatment plan. This includes specific, measurable goals, the recommended service setting and intensity, strategies for each goal, and a plan for parent/caregiver training.
We review the plan with you in full before a single session begins — because you should understand and agree with every aspect of your family member's care.
Therapy Begins
Sessions start in your preferred setting — home, school, or a combination. Your BCBA supervises all sessions, reviews data regularly, and adjusts the treatment plan as your family member progresses. You'll receive regular progress updates and have ongoing access to your clinical team.
Ongoing Progress & Transition Planning
ABA is a dynamic process. We monitor data continuously and adjust goals and strategies to ensure your family member is always being appropriately challenged and supported. As goals are mastered, we plan for generalization, skill maintenance, and eventually — thoughtful, goal-based discharge.
